[mythtv-users] Lirc sometimes rejects keys, sometimes accepts under knoppmyth using pvr -250

I've had this problem since I installed knoppmyth in order to get the
schedules direct fix. My sister with similar hardware also has the
issue. We both use the Hauppauge remote that came with the pvr-250. The
remote works, but most of the time I have to hit a key over and over
until it's accepted, or just hold it down. I restored the same lirc
files I had used on the Fedora 4 systems.

I see these errors in my syslog, but I think this is related to my
blaster. My sister has no errors and no blaster.

key=0x3f raw=0x1fff down=1

syslog:Dec 26 10:43:28 mymythtv kernel: i2c IR (Hauppauge): unknown key:

syslog:Dec 26 10:43:28 mymythtv kernel: i2c IR (Hauppauge): unknown key:
key=0x3f raw=0x1fff down=0

I've searched lists but I cannot even find anything that seems worth
trying. Since my sister's box is 250 miles away, it's hard to test and
I'd like to try the simplest solution after testing on mine:
