[mythtv-users] Slight Pauses in Playback/Live TV

Updates on what I've tried today, neither of which made any impact on my 
problem.

1) Tried moving /var/lib to a separate disk (400Gb SATA drive), so I got the 
mysql database files elsewhere.

2) Moved the entire root partition to a separate disk.

No joy, it's still jumpy whilst displaying scrolling things from recordings or 
Live TV.

Next task is to use another motherboard as a front end, but I need some RAM to 
be able to do that, so I'm stuck till I can get to a shop.

I *think* playback was ok using a different (powerful) machine as a front end, 
but when I tried it again I couldn't get the mythbuntu live CD to boot 
properly.  It's never just one thing is it? ;-)

I'll report back when I've tried separate front and back ends but that may be 
in the new year now.
