[mythtv-users] Lirc crashes

You most likely need to do

[myth at mythtv ~]$ uname -a
Linux mythtv 2.6.23.8-63.fc8 #1 SMP Wed Nov 21 18:51:08 EST 2007 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux
[myth at mythtv ~]$ yum install lirc-kmdl-2.6.23.8-63.fc8

substituting your kernel.
