I did a virgin install yesterday of FC6 and following Jarod Wilson's
Myth install instructions, start to work through the myth install.

The process errored when it came time to install Lirc.

I did a:

# yum -y install lirc-kmdl-$KVER
# yum -y install lirc
Followed by #cp

Then I added:

alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
install lirc_i2c /sbin/modprobe ivtv; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install

to /etc/modprobe.conf and performed a

/sbin/modprobe lirc_i2c

Which generated the following errors:

WARNING: Error inserting lirc_dev (/lib/modules/
42.fc6/updates/drivers/lirc/lirc_dev.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting lirc_dev
(/lib/modules/ Invalid
module format
FATAL: Error inserting lirc_i2c (/lib/modules/
42.fc6/updates/drivers/lirc/lirc_i2c.ko): Invalid module format
FATAL: Error running install command for lirc_i2c
I have no clue what to do next.
