[mythtv-users] Sound problems

OK - have loaded all those 3 modules, /dev/dsp is now available.   
Sound still doesn't work (I've turned up the TV's volume to max  
hoping my neighbours won't complain, and putting my hands on the  
speakers) but only get a very faint crackle and variable clicking out  
of the right speaker which I'm guessing is the hard drive (I'm  
guessing there's bad inference here).  Here's what MythTV reports  
when trying to play a DVD:

Also, on the output on screen shows "Unable to open mixer: '/dev/ 
sound/mixer'" - wasn't saved to the log.

Do you mean do that in the frontend setup screens?
