[mythtv-users] LiveTV playback stops at end of show with latest svn trunk

what a long thread, yeah, that was related to it. I happen to have a PVR500 card and the last posts of this thread indicate something fishy with ivtv. Anyway, I recompiled mythtv with the work around described in one the latest posts (a small change in tv_rec.cpp, line 1310, all args set to true) and tried it. No more freezes. I had systemtica freeze during program switching. It's the first time I experience no freeze since I updated my system a few days ago.

I will live with this workaround for now. Don't know why it's only called a workaround and not a fix but as most problems, it will be cleared up soon or later. For now, I am satisfied.

Looks like an old misbehavior of liveTV playback has resurfaced, at least on my system using the latest mythTV svn trunk (checked out yesterday). Did anyone noticed lately that liveTV playback stops at end of shows by itself and freezes mythfrontend for about half a minute (after which you can resume liveTV) ?

Looking at older messages regarding this, it seemed related to the next show file being empty when switching after the end of previous show, therefore making mythTV give up too quickly. Playing with the option "Always stream stuff from server" does not seem to have any effect.

 Anyone, any idea ?

Thanks,
J.
