If you search for PS3 patches you should find a thread with the most
recent info.  It looks pretty rough but seem there has been some
progress on using the SPEs for video decoding work.  Since there is no
access to the GPU from linux then this is the best hope.  There have
been sporadic reports of people viewing HD content in myth but no one
has been convincing enough for me to rush out and buy one.
