Yes, your house will explode.

Seriously, though, it depends on things like what kind of hardware you
have in the Myth box plugged into your regular TV.

I can watch HD programming *almost* just fine on a SDTV from my
Mythbox powered by a XP2500+ and an nVidia 5200 AGP card.  YMMV.
