Okay, I'm a little confused about the terminology.

I only want to be able to use my remote control. So I only need the 
lirc_i2c modules.

I tried walking through the instructions again, this time only building 
the lirc_i2c modules, and leaving out the lirc_pvr150.

However, irw still doesn't work, and dmesg says:
kobject_add failed for 12c ir driver with -EEXIST, don't try to register 
things with the same name in the same directory.

I seem to still have some modules in there that I want to get rid of. 
How can I clean them up?
