it's probably a symlink to the real library. For instance, on my pc here
(non-MythTV):
 # ls -lsa /usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic.so.1
0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 2007-04-08 15:32
/usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic.so.1 -> libXvMCNVIDIA.so.1.0.9755
