So sometimes it is good to look at manuals before buy :-). I did it, and my LG
42LC3R LCD TV does a good job for both HDMI(DVI) abd VGA input - my G7300
worked even with nvidia-auto-select "resolution" :

(--) NVIDIA(0): Interlaced video modes are supported on this GPU
(--) NVIDIA(0): Connected display device(s) on GeForce 7300 LE at PCI:1:0:0:
(--) NVIDIA(0): LG 42LC3R-ZH (DFP-0)
(--) NVIDIA(0): LG 42LC3R-ZH (DFP-0): 165.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
(--) NVIDIA(0): LG 42LC3R-ZH (DFP-0): Internal Single Link TMDS
(WW) NVIDIA(0): TwinView requested, but only 1 display devices found.
(II) NVIDIA(0): Assigned Display Device: DFP-0
(II) NVIDIA(0): Validated modes:
(II) NVIDIA(0): "nvidia-auto-select"
(II) NVIDIA(0): Virtual screen size determined to be 1360 x 768

PS : The only bad thing about it is that at 42 inches the MPEG-4 compression
is very visible.
