MythTV Users,
I have computer that a friend gave to me, and I'm going to turn it into
a dedicated multimedia center. All I really intend for it is to watch TV
(With my Hauppauge PVR-150), watch AVI video files, watch DVDs, and play
music. No intentions of internet telephone, web browsing, or anything else.
I've been running MythTV for a while on my main computer, just getting
used to it and exploring its options.
Then around the time that I found out I was getting a second computer, I
heard about LinuxMCE.
On the one hand, LinuxMCE looks like overkill. But on the other it looks
like it is fairly automatic in set up and will accomplish all I intend
for it to do.
MythTV could probably do everything I'm asking as well.
LinuxMCE uses MythTV for its TV component anyway, so maybe its not even
that different.
I'm not really sure what the differences and similarities really mean in
practical terms.
So I'm looking for advice. Which one should I go with?
