I can't answer all your questions, but I do know this: nVidia officially 
supports the MX4000 only via older "legacy" drivers. (I don't recall the 
exact version numbers, though.) I know it's possible to get at least some 
later drivers to work with the MX4000 (my Ubuntu installation did this 
without complaints using its nVidia packages), but this isn't officially 
supported, and going forward, you're likely to get official support for the 
5200 longer than for the MX4000.
