[mythtv-users] mythbackend gobbling up swap space

So,
Has anyone else noticed a memory leak in mythbackend?
I compiled the latest svn version of mythtv last night and started it
running (at about 1:00). It uses a reasonable amount of memory for a
while and then seems to go crazy and gobble up all of the swap space
until the system slows to a crawl.

Top reported the following:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ SWAP
COMMAND
21082 mythtv 16 0 1541m 800m 12m S 0 79.8 3:13.37 740m
mythbackend

It starts to get really slow and I start to get ridiculous amounts of
page faults.

upon restarting the backend top reports the following:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
20903 mythtv 15 0 293m 43m 21m S 0 4.3 0:16.83
mythfrontend
22366 mythtv 17 0 237m 13m 9284 S 0 1.3 0:00.08 mythbackend

I didn't have this problem when I was running the ubuntu package so
it seems to be a problem with my build.

Anyone else noticed this?
