No idea because the crux of your problem is still unknown.
Your /etc/hosts file, DNS setup, netmask could all make a
difference. The point was that "Access denied" means that
you did have a network connection but the DB user is not
allowed (unknown user or typo in the password, etc.).
What I'd do is to run a shell on the remote hosts and try:
: bjm at moktoo ; mysql -u mythtv -pmythtv -hnordtv mythconverg
This would tell me if moktoo can connect to nordtv and get
a prompt. Once that works, then run myth*end and see if it
connects. If not, the mysql.txt args need to match what works
on the command line.
