Hi Mario, 

I had concluded that incorrectly from another thread some time ago; I
have checked again and found Branden Stanleys message about "Sync to
VBlank" in nvidia-settings and that fixed it. 

Now it works for me, so my problem was not related to mmx and I now
conclude that mmx is enabled... is there an easy way to check it, for
example in a log file?
