Thank you for the follow up!  The saa7134 does get loaded along with
the saa7134-dvb.  If I try to remove the saa7134, I get a message
telling me it's in use by the saa7134-dvb.  If I move the saa7134
outside the module tree (mv
/lib/modules/kernel-version/kernel/drivers/media/.../saa7134.ko /tmp &
depmod -ae) I get unresolved symbol errors when trying to load the
saa7134-dvb.

But...

At least I'm thinking along the same lines as what the fix might be,
somehow getting the 7134 not loaded...
