Mythfrontends can be totally diskless if you want, and just boot across the
network say from the backend.And anyway
by replacing the OS (maybe just replace the CFlash disk) we can configure
whatever we want. The screenshots appear to
be showing a Linux like OS which is promising.
So the NFS question is moot really.

I'd be interested in what TV-OUT facilities were available if any...

It's an interesting concept as it is though, a low power PC that you "rent"
storage and OS for...hmmm.
