Wow, what a good idea. I'm kinda sad I totally didn't think to do
that before posting.
Anyway, skipping works like a charm with MPlayer. So that basically
narrows it down to 2 things: either Myth, OR the fact that I'm using
OSS emulation under Myth (I chose /dev/dsp1 because I didn't know how
to put in my alsa-named card... which I aliased as "turtle" in my
asoundrc). I guess that will be my next step, trying it as pure ALSA
support in Myth. This is really great though -- that means the
hardware is just fine!
