[mythtv-users] cannot schedule recordings any more

i assume you refer to this part:

NOTE: If you modify the 127.0.0.1 address and use a "real" IP
address, you must use real IP addresses in both fields, otherwise
your frontend machines will generate "Unexpected response to
MYTH_PROTO_VERSION" errors.

however, the question here is who set this up?
i did not set it up as far as i can tell.

now, recall that i did not see any errors in the backend log.
certainly not protocol errors:

so, is it possible that machine B's setup program may have
changed the settings of machine A?
