[mythtv-users] MythVideo - blurry 'internal' vs crisp 'mplayer'

Hi, I'm running .20a of myth, and I'm trying to use the internal player
for mythvideo. I'm not very impressed with the quality of the picture
though, it all comes out blurred, almost like there is a strong
deinterlacing filter on it or something. On the other hand, when
watching the same videos in mplayer they look nice and crisp as always.
This occurs for all video types I've tried mpg, mpeg2, avi (xvid/divx).
I'm running this out on svideo on an EPIA M10000 with XvMC built and...
but since this occurs with non-mpeg2 files I don't think XvMC even comes
into play.
mplayer output is xv, with the following "mplayer -zoom - fs -vo xv %s"
I'd like to be able to use the same interface for all my videos, but the
quality is so different between the two.
Is there any way I can turn off whatever (filter?) is causing this?
I've tried changing all the settings I can in the playback menu, and
none of them seem to fix it. Please let me know if you need more
information.
Thanks!
* I had tried internal with various .19 svn builds as well and
experienced the same results
