What kernel are you running?
Kernel is 2.6.17-1.2187_FC5smp.

The last few days my backend has been going flaky too. For example, this
morning I went to mythweb to see if the scheduled recordings worked last
night. The page was already in my browser so I clicked on Recorded
Programs. It sat there waiting for a minute or two, then gave me this
error:
Error at /var/www/html/mythweb/modules/tv/recorded.php, line 260:
gmp_add() [function.gmp-add]: Unable to convert variable to GMP - wrong
type

type

There are no errors in the backend.log, but it even registered the
request from mythweb! I can connect to the database and select from the
tables. mythbackend service is running and nmap shows the mythtv ports
open.

I had this same thing happen twice yesterday when suddenly mythfrontend
on another machine would no longer connect. I restart the mythbackend
service and it all comes back up again.

Oh yeah, and only one of my three recordings has worked last night. The
second one had the ivtv driver time-out, then it looks like the backend
went to lunch. Third recording was never attempted.

Very weird....
James
