I don't know if this sheds any light on the matter, but I just noticed
this bit of information. I checked the satellite channels that Myth
picked up against the Zap2it lineup. Mythtv-setup first showed 11
satellite channels, all of which were 11 out of 13 from just one
satellite from the Zap2it listing.

After running mfdb, and checking the mythtv-setup channel editor, myth
then listed 13 satellite channels. 11 of them were the same as before,
but it picked out 2 more (making 13). The two "new" ones were from a
different satellite. So there seems to be something messed up in mfdb's
downloading of the 4DTV satellite listing.

I'm thinking about going to Zap2it and setting up another lineup, for
Dish Network or something, and see if mfdb will download that correctly.
That will let me know if it's just a 4DTV lineup that's a problem or not.
