I'm no expert, but.. While watching live-tv the stream is buffered (using the same recorder I'd presume) so you can pause and the like.  I'd check and make sure you storage location is defined, available and has free space.  Might want to just go through all the setup and make sure it's setup.

Just my 2cents.. figured nobody responded yet..
