I've seen a couple of references where folks have gotten the Fusion 5
Lite card to work with mythtv on a cable system. If anybody has specific
instructions that would be bonus.
Let me preface this with the fact that the card is displaying some
digital channels through the use of azap -r <some_channel> and then
playing with mplayer -framedrop -vo xv -cache
8192 /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0. That seems to work okay on at least a few
channels.
The problem I'm having is getting the card to work with mythtv. I have
configured it with mythtv-setup. Both an analog and a digital capture
card have been setup but neither has worked. So I thought the best thing
to do is to drop back and get just the analog side working first.
Here are the specifics in mythtv:
Card type: Analog V4L capture card
Video device: /dev/video0
Probed info: BT878 video (DViCO FusionHDTV 5 [bttv]
VBI device: /dev/vbi
Audio device: /dev/dsp
Audio sampling rate limit: (None)
Default input: Television
Starting the back end (it's a slave back end with this one card) starts
okay but as soon as a front end tries to select this tuner the back end
kicks out with a "HandleRemoteEncoder(cmd IS_BUSY) Unknown encoder: 7,
exiting" error message.
BTW, configuring the analog like above and then scanning for channels
adds all of the analog channels that are detected from the wire. So, I'm
assuming that the card can actually tune the analog signal.
If anybody has gotten this to work I'd appreciate some guidance.
Thanks,
Bruce
