I'm still having a few issues with my new myth box. Last night I had two
recordings get totally hosed. Looks like the ivtv drivers went whacky. I
restarted the box and it completed the in progress recording ok, and the
next two recordings went fine. I have the mythtv log here:
http://www.obrien-pifer.com/mythtv/ivtvfail.txt

I was copying some videos files at the start of the first recording that
had problems. I didn't think this would cause issues. The box is pretty
powerful, Dual Xeon 1.8 Ghz processes, but RAM is only 512. Hard drive
is a Seagate Ultra ATA 100 750 GB. Stats for it are:
# hdparm -i /dev/hda

/dev/hda:

# hdparm -tT /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 Timing cached reads: 1080 MB in 2.00 seconds = 539.44 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 150 MB in 3.02 seconds = 49.75 MB/sec

Was this a fluke or something I should be concerned with?
Was it due to copying files and the system was busy?
Searching about this issue I came across some things saying that some
services could screw up DMA? Are there services on FC5 like cpuspeed
that I should be turning off?

As always, any suggestions appreciated.

James
