No "supposedly" about it, his book *Hacking Mythtv* was released about a
month ago. At first I shared your theory, but then I recalled that the book
actually refers its readers to the site in order to eliminate redundancy in
the two sources. This fact put a dent into my conspiracy theory.

However, the book reads as if a lot of information came together in
a somewhat hurried fashion -- which it probably did -- and that's typical of
texts in the open source community. Perhaps in the rush there was
some miscommunication between Jarod and his publisher regarding the site?
