OK I can answer this question now. I've done fresh install of FC 5 / Mythtv
on my Remote FE and the combo FE/BE machine.

The problem returns! I can watch live TV OTA on both machines, I can watch
recorded shows on the FE/BE machine. I can see the files listed in the
Remote FE's "Media Library
> Watch Recordings;" however, I cannot play the files. I get the following
warning:

> 2006-10-10 17:47:49.376 Error: File '/mnt/store/1342_20061010171405.mpg'
> missing.

The ownership of the file is root and root. I've changed the permissions to
777, but still no remote access.

Could some router setting be blocking access to this file? If so, why
wouldn't those same settings block access to the capture card and mysql
database?

Could it be that the FE/BE machine is x86_64 and the front is i386?

There is nothing unusual in the mysql or mythtv logs. The only thing that
looks possibly amiss is the following reference to SIP in the output of the
"mythfrontend" command:

I believe SIP is used in VOIP which I do not use; so I'm not concerned by
the warning. I receive the same warning on the FE/BE machine and the machine
works great. But it's a noobs life for me and the SIP warning might be
important.
