I use a standard RF Keyboard/Mouse - I can't recall the model number, but I
think its MS. Works fine - just about any should do I would think.

I use a Home Theater Master MX-700 from Universal Remote Control and love
it. However, I cannot in good concious recommend it because they recently
changed their software policy and its a royal pain to get the software to
program it.

Hardware: great - company support to end-users: terrible.

Checkout user reviews on many remotes.

Another keyboard option, if you can find one, would be to get an IR
keyboard/mouse. You can then program the remote control to send the same IR
signals as the keyboard and then you don't need to fuss with lirc.

Of course I imagine that using the IR keyboard might be trickier than an RF
Keyboard because of the line of sight business.
