Currently, it decides master/slave status by comparing the IPs in the database 
for the 'this computer' setting and the 'master backend' setting.  Not ideal, 
but that's how it is for now.

If it's running as a slave, there won't be a scheduler running, so you won't 
get any recordings scheduled.
