[mythtv-users] flashing/flickering on playback after pause

I don't know what exactly to call it, but I have a problem with playback
that only occurs when I pause, fast forward, or rewind. The problem
started when I upgraded to 0.19, and persists with 0.20, and never
occurred with 0.18 (I am using ATrpms versions under FC5). Furthermore,
it does not occur at all on two other frontend machines that are running
the same OS and MythTV versions, it only occurs when running on the main
backend/frontend server. It also does not ever occur on initial start of
playback, or when jumping ahead or back, or when skipping commercials
ahead or back, and never happens spontaneously during playback. It
always takes a pause, fast forward, or rewind to trigger it.

The fact that it only occurs on one system might point to the graphics
driver or hardware (I just upgraded to version 8774 of the NVIDIA
driver), but the fact that it only happens when pausing, rewinding, or
fast forwarding says otherwise, so I'm not quite sure what to think.

I'm just hoping that someone else has seen this. What happens is, when
unpausing or pressing the OK button to stop fast forward or rewind and
begin playing again, the playback resumes, but the display flashes
rapidly (it's enough to cause an epileptic seizure if one were
susceptible to such things). I can still see the image and the sound is
fine, but it flashes rapidly brighter/darker/brighter/darker. It will
continue this way forever until I hit the POWER (ESC) button, exit to
the menu, and press OK to restart playback. After that it is fine again
(until the next pause, rewind, or fast forward operation).

Anybody seen anything like this?
