[mythtv-users] mythtvsetup hangs

Boot your machine, and run 'lsmod | more'. Look for the ivtv modules 
being loaded.
If the modules load, then run 'dmesg | more' and check for the ivtv 
section. That will tell you if the modules can load, but are not 
properly communicating with the hardware.

You DO have the firmware loaded into the correct place?
