I don't think what you want is possible (If I'm reading you
correctly). but what you can do is set different output modes
depending on the source video size. Its in the TV Playback Setup.

I would suggest setting your default output to 1366x768 and set up a
special mode for your PAL recordings to output them at 720x576.

As well, running lower resolution recordings at your monitor's native
resolution should not use any significant extra CPU as the scaling is
done by the video card if your XV is properly set up.
