I think this is my problem in a nutshell. Other than doing a channel
scan, how do I *know* which channels are available to my HDHomerun?

The problem I have in particular is that I can do a channel scan, but
then I cannot actually tune most of the channels that it finds. Instead
I get a blue screen of "error encountered while displaying video". As of
a few weeks ago, this would also crash the backend, but recent code
improvements seem to have stopped the backend crashes at least. But I
still get blue screens trying to tune channels that were found in a
channel scan.

I am running the latest SVN, I update and recompile every couple of
days. My cable system is using QAM-256.
