[mythtv-users] Any ideas how to make my hard drive shut up?

crond?
syslog syncing?  Place a - in front of the file path - look at the man page.

Something else?

As root

echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/block_dump

Then look at dmesg to see what is using the disk - best not to do this
whilst recording!

To stop;

echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/block_dump
