[mythtv-users] Lirc/MythTV&Xine Brightness?

I am noticing that when MythTV/DVD (using Xine or mplayer) play a program 
from the same source as my HDTV (non HDTV format) that the output from 
Myth on seen's that are dark or very red (like a night campfire scene) 
the darkness is magnified (IE: It's way too dark).

So ok, I need to adjust the brightness level for that movie/show, and I 
see that Xine has functions for those adjustments. I dumped the lirc 
commands and grabbed the ones for brightness and added them to my .lircrc 
config but when I press the assignment for BrightnessControl+ The 
brightness display bar pops up but will not advance. The down command will 
not even bring up the display bar.

I have not tried this with MythTV, I am not sure what "program" to use in 
my lirc, is it just mythtv? And is there a brightness command?
