I cannot for the life of me understand how I missed this, since I
specifically checked for firmware issues. But thank you for the eagle
eye. Kind of like that C program that you've been trying to debug for a
week, and someone else looks at the code for the first time and spots
the bug right away. Once you've been looking at the same stuff for long
enough, you can look right at the problem and not see it. Having others
to look at it is an invaluable tool.

Last night I even tried moving the card to another PCI slot. Of course
that didn't work either, but it was easy and worth a shot.

I'll check into this firmware when I get home tonight. If I could at
least get the PVR-500 working again, then I would have a system with
some usefulness (and not have to go back to using a VCR), and give up
only on HD. But it will be hard to completely give up on that either
because the Comcast DVR box sucks so badly and I *know* there is nothing
I can do to improve that.
