[mythtv-users] A series of noob questions

Hey all I have a series of questions -- any help appreciated:

1. Where is this frontendlog I've read so much about? I use KnoppMythTV
R5B7.ISO. The only way I obtain information which many seem to get from a
"frontendlog" is to start the frontend from an xterm console. Then I can
read the live postings of "prebuffering pause" etc. I've used find / -iname
("*.log",  frontend, "frontend.*" , and a whole bunch of other search
criteria), but no frontendlog found.

2. If I'm trying to run a OTA digital system with a pcHDTV hd3000, should
not be running ivtv? Should I remove it? Should I remove the cx88_blackbird
module? How would I remove these if, indeed, they should be removed?

3. With my OTA system, the process of "Scan for Channels" captures several
channels that have a weak signal. I'd like to remove these channels. How
does one do this?

4. XvMC doesn't load despite setting MythTV to "Standard XvMC."
