I suspect there would be other additional problems involved.  
Including, but not limited to:

* Lack of Sony PS3 APIs/Modules/etc. in an Linux PC
* Lack of BluRay drive for reading the discs
* Lack of enough CPU/GPU power to handle the code (though I might be  
wrong on this one, but until we can benchmark the CELL...)

I'm also guessing that, like the PS2, the XBox, and now the GameCube,  
you'll have to boot Linux, so as to try and prevent giving people to  
any of the proprietary code (even as a binary). It made sense for  
Sony in the past, and it seems logical for the future.
