If you are talking about displaying on a mythtv box, it depends on the 
capture cards.  The 480i or 480p digital signal would be passed 
through.  The Analog signal, if captured by a PVRx50 card, would be 
pretty much the same thing depending on the bandwidth chosen.  If you 
have a card that does not output a pure MPEG stream then it would 
require far more power to display.  Also, does your output card have 
hardware acceleration of the stream typoe captured by your analog card 
but not of mpeg2?
