You need to fix your mixer settings.  I believe that it is "default" or 
"Default" instead of /dev/mixer when using ALSA or you should set up OSS 
emulation for your card so that the mixer device is available.  I'd try 
the former.

You should also fix your audio recording/playback rate to 48000Hz or 
check the wiki for the digital sound HOWTO on how to use ALSA to make 
sure all your content is sampled properly for output.
