Ok, inspired by these messages, I bought a Compaq Deskpro EN from eBay,
paid the expected $80 (but Aussie $, so even better). I have installed
Mythdora on it (and upgraded my backend to .19) and it's all working, but
playback is a little jerky. CPU usage is running at about 72%, so I suspect
that it's dropping frames.
Are there any suggestions on making this work better? I have seen some
references to using XvMC with the Intel 815 integrated video, but I've turned
that on, and it doesn't seem to be being used - the xorg.log says that
XvMC is on, but mythfrontend -v playback says it's not supported.
Suggestions anyone?
TIA.
