I am also running FC4/atrpms and I do not have the problem. My temp folder
is /home2/temp and my access rights are as follows:

[root at pc133 wiki]# ll /home2
totalt 3751068
...
drwxrwxr--   3 apache hjemme       4096  7 maj 10:34 temp

[root at pc133 wiki]# ll /home2/temp
totalt 3736260
drwxrwxr--  4 mythtv apache       4096  7 maj 10:20 DVD
-rw-r--r--  1 apache apache    1703936  7 maj 10:20 intro1.mpg
-rw-r--r--  1 apache apache 3820337152  7 maj 10:34 mythburndvd.iso
-rw-r--r--  1 apache apache     132119  7 maj 10:34 mythburn.log
-rw-r--r--  1 apache apache        216  7 maj 10:19 thumbnail1.txt

As you can see the apache user is owner of the folder. Maybe that is
important ?
Or could you have run out of space ?
What is the exact error message that you get ?
