[mythtv-users] RCA DRD222RD

Hey all,

Is anyone using the RCA DRD222RD with their mythtv via the home control
port? I just got it, and I want to set it up. Here is the lowdown on my
setup:

P4 3.2 ghz
750 GB hdd
2 GB ram
PVR-250

I have a working remote, I have tried a few scripts, and one outputs things
like cancel OSD and stuff, but the channel doesn't change when I run
channel.pl 100

My serial port is com1 in the bios, I was using /dev/ttyS0 but I'm not sure
if that is right. I know a fair amount about linux, but when it comes to
hardware I/O I'm lost. I also have a Actisys ir-200l that I was trying to
setup but never got working, which is why I got the new box.

I have done a lot of googleing and searching through this forum to find a
nice step by step guide, but I haven't found anything that has worked for
me. If wanted, I would be more than happy to setup vnc server or give ssh
access if anyone wishes to take a direct peek at what is going on, but I
really want to know how to do this myself.

So, what I'm looking for is a way to go from a fresh Knoppmyth install to
having mythtv change the channels on my box. Is there any way to set test
data to the com port or something to make sure that is at least working?
Like I said before, nothing happens on the box when I run the script
