What does "hdparm -tT" show you?

hdparm -tT /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads:   2256 MB in  2.00 seconds = 1127.93 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  112 MB in  3.08 seconds =  36.41 MB/sec

whoa, the above was with mythcommflag running.... see below....

/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads:   2264 MB in  2.00 seconds = 1131.93 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  200 MB in  3.02 seconds =  66.22 MB/sec
