Hi there,
I am new with Mythtv, So i might not yet understand your rules on this
list (couldn't find any rules or wishes on posting).
Anyway, though I am new to Mythtv I am not completely new to linux.
I want to build a PVR with Mythtv using a Satellite dish in the
Netherlands. Right now I am in the process of deciding for hardware. I
got around www.linuxtv.org and all the wikipedia's.
So I understand what hardware is supported, I just couldn't find any
reviews about any hardware used.
I myself want to try to use the Terractec Cinergy 1200 DVB-S. I know
there are currently some issues with this card, but I am willing to
"play". My major question for this card is about the CI module. Cause
in this link "http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Supported_DVB_cards#Terratec_Cinergy_1200_DVB-S_budget.2FTyphoon.2FKNC1_DVB-S_budget"
It states that it can control a CI module (I need that module in the
Netherlands to recieve my native tv-channels) but terratec responded
to me that there is no CI module for this card. Now I wonder does
anyone have a terratec card with a CI-module? And what module? or is
there som e CI module that can work independ form a DVB-S card under
linux?
Anyway, if it is true that no CI-module is available that works, then
I dont want that card... So I am open to any opinions about currently
used cards.
Thanks for your time already.
Greetings
Herman Gerritsen
