Another possibility to some of the suggestions made here is partimage, I use
Knoppix 4.02 to boot to linux with on my myth box, then I partimage my boot
and root partitions to a windows share. Partimage uses compression and is a
little slow, but it means you can keep lots of images of your box. My image
files are around 2GB total.
