No need to mess with firmware for the newer ones, they just work out of 
the box. Don't know what the status is for the original. Mythic.tv 
replaced my non-functional one (even after BTTI coudn't find anything 
wrong with it) with an HD5000. I was so pleased, I ordered another from 
them.

Just pop it in and scan.
