I agree here completely.
From my point of view it's not just me (as a slightly nerdy bloke who
built the system) but my wife and two tenants who watch Mythtv in my
flat and if I had to say "sorry you can only watch things you've
previously recorded" I'd be fighting quite a lot pressure to bring the
old TV back, this idea does also limit it's use to the regular user
who's chosen to record those particular programs. There are also a lot
of things on the TV and I can't realistically record it all - so there
are many occasions when I get back and see something on TV which I
decide to watch and even with the current 6 second delay I do miss
channel hopping!
