I am sure you could get a usable AMICUS install in 4GB
and maybe less.  To be safe, that is as small as I
would go.  Maybe a 1 GB swap partition.  My current
development test station is only using 2GB total
(according to du -h) and that is with everything
installed and the utilities.  I do not have many
recordings since this is development machine.
